Amitabh writes well

As my random visits to many blogs and sites, I chanced upon Amitabh Bachchan's written piece.

In general, most of us as part of our writing, become too cosmetic in our choice of words and thoughts. More often than not, we choose our words to deflate criticism. I read this blog with the same expectation, however I was pleasantly surprised. I was very happy to read a person who though, looked prone to reacting very personally to criticism, however was honest in admitting so. There was a lot of honesty in the way he approached issues, he was also very incisive and humorous in the way he wrote.

Look at the following piece of his writeup, taken in a unauthorized manner.

He writes "Anchors move on to the next programme - a rape or shoot out, car having run over pedestrian sleepers. Get the blood, get the relatives in various stages of shock and dismay, weeping and distraught close ups would help. Catch the cops for comment and the ambulance taking away the bodies. Didn’t get the shot ? Damn !! No problem, pick up the visual from the day before as the bus plunged into the river, patrol cars and ambulances were seen there as well."

I liked his description, it was humorous which avoided its pitfall of having been rendered cynical. This is what I like about writing with a fresh bend of mind. It can only come, if you start to look at an issue while discarding all previously available modes of inspecting them. It starts a thought process, which culminates into a chain of thoughts competing within to be put down on a piece of text box.

Sample this.

"Jaya walks out of Parliament as a demonstration of her right as an MP, in disagreement with proceedings in the august Sabha. Commentator on TV, “these 20 somethings, that believe History started when they were employed” adds her little bit of savvy … ” and Mrs Bachchan walks out in typical filmy style”.

What is filmy style pray ?

I shall tell you. Its a lot better than slogan shouting, fisticuffs flying, microphone ripping, female denuding, helium gassed black ballooning, well entering, other public representatives of our nation !!

Will the media coin a word for them and their actions please. For I see them exhibiting their histrionics somewhat regularly on national TV !!"

Now he writes here as a completely biased family man. He is protective of his wife, also he comes out as a person who would use amusing analogies to defend some great (pun intended!) political skills of his wife. Irrespective of the fact, that her wife comes across as a similarly feudal mindset which pervades across most of Uttar Pradesh, he bares his feelings, which are endearing. He is not trying to be politically correct. He felt something, he expressed them! However it is not even calling spade a spade. Here he somehow forgot that he has just started another controversial debate destined to occupy acres of gigabytes. But did he care for that in the first go?

Another chain of thoughts, another time!
